New Music Sundays (3)

For me, this weeks top track comes from one of my all-time favourite bands, Gorillaz, from their highly anticipated return album, Humanz. The track in question is Saturnz Barz. The instrumentals here sound exactly like something taken from the soundtrack of a John Carpenter’s film. There’s also great vocal work from featured artist Popcaan, with his vocals enhanced through the use of autotune. It’s dark, eerie and will definitely satisfy the die-hard Gorillaz fans. I couldn’t help but bop along when I first heard it.

Another highly recommendably this week would have to be River by Leon Bridges. The perfect song to chillax to. A beautiful vocal range from Bridges which also features a choir in the background. Give it a listen after you have had that bop and are just looking to kick back.

And the final track recommendation this week has got to be London Grammar’s Truth is a Beautiful Thing. The chorus was stuck in my head the moment after I finished listening to it.
